Here’s an update on Dad’s condition. Apparently, he will not need surgery after all, as the ankle bones were well set by the doctor yesterday and are not offset. So, that will mean quicker recovery time. Phew! Hopefully this also means minimal or no muscle, ligament or tendon damage. Sharon and I will probably go in to visit Dad in the hospital again tonight.
OK, everyone knows Dad’s a fishing fanatic, right? Well, I am not going to talk about that, but rather “phishing“. I just heard about the Netcraft toolbar for Internet Explorer (Sorry: Windows 200/XP only) that can potentially help ward off phishing attacks. I have not yet tried it, but it seems like an interesting concept. Mostly, I use the Mozilla Firefox browser anyway, except for a few exceptions, primarily for my company’s intranet web sites, but the toolbar doesn’t work with Firefox. Oh well.
Speaking of phishing…for the love of God, please people, don’t ever click on a link from an email claiming to be from any financial institution asking you to login and change billing or other preference information. These emails are phishing scams nearly 100% of the time.
