Well, tomorrow is our big barbecue. As many of you know, we normally have a big campout every year, but with Sharon being 8 months pregnant, we decided we should probably stick close to civilization. So, it’s been a little crazy trying to get ready. As mentioned in a previous post, we recently replaced out bathtub, so I had to do some drywall work - my first time taping drywall…ugh! And, I’ve been priming and painting like a madman to get the bathroom back to looking somewhat normal. Sharon has been in a cleaning frenzy.
Last night we went shopping for burgers, hotdogs, etc. However, due to one of the world’s stupidest laws, we could not buy the beer. See, in Connecticut, it’s illegal to sell alcoholic beverages after 9 PM (or on Sundays), except at bars or restaurants. And that’s better than it was; it used to be 8 pm! I think I got to the cash register with the beer at 8 seconds after 9 PM, so they wouldn’t sell it to me. Grrrr!!! Stupid, stupid, pointless and useless law! I mean, who gives a crap when I buy my alcohol? It’s when and where I consume it that matters - i.e., not drinking and driving or walking downtown with an open bottle, etc.
Still more to do. Gotta cut the lawn, go to the dump, buy beer & gas for the grill, set up, do more cleaning….
