We just got back from the pediatrician’s office. James is now a day short of 8 weeks old. He’s 10 lbs 14 oz (which is average) and 25 inches long (97th percentile!). So he’s pretty “tall” at this early stage in the game.
James also got some immunizations today, including DTaP and Rotovirus. One oral elixir and 3 shots. Needless to say, he didn’t like the shots a whole lot. You should have seen his eyes widen when the first needle plunged into his thigh - “eyes as wide as saucers” would pretty much cover it. Then he wailed through the second shot (same leg) and then calmed down for a moment, just in time to get the last shot in the other thigh. His eyes went even wider that time and he wailed for a couple minutes more until I comforted him a bit. But he had stopped crying and fussing by the time we got his jumper back on and got him back into the baby carrier. He was a brave little man today.
