If you are about to have a baby, you need to get The Happiest Baby on the Block. It’s got great tips on how to calm down your irritated little infant and get him to stay asleep longer, allowing you to do the same.
Just a hint…you may think your baby doesn’t like swaddling, but give it a chance. Our James goes beserk when we swaddle him, but once we finish the job and sit down with him lying in our arms, he usually goes to sleep quite quickly. If he’s still fussing, we also give him a pacifier and turn on a radio with static. With that combination, he typically goes from pissed-off beserk to out-like-a-light in literally 1-2 minutes…sometimes even less. It also keeps him from waking himself up by flailing his arms in his sleep, so he was sleeping for 6-10 hours at a stretch at night when he was a little over 2 months old.
