This is truly annoying. Our broadband (cable modem) internet service has been down since Thursday. We have Vonage telephone service (i.e., over the internet), so now we have no phone either - except by cell phone. Technicians came by yesterday and determined that the problem is at the telephone pole or somewhere else on the line. They can’t get another technician out here until tomorrow to work on the pole/line. So meanwhile, all I have is crappy dialup access.
Oddly, the latest Comcast bill has a notice about “24 Hour Service Restoration.” I’m paraphrasing here, but it basically says, “Interrupted service will be restored within 24 hours of you contacting us unless we can’t restore it within 24 hours.” Oh, that gives a warm-fuzzy, huh? They do say they will credit you for the lost service if it takes more than 24 hours. So at least there’s that.
